Boston radio website, WBUR recently published an article interviewing former English football coach, Clive Toye, who reminisced about his and his team's visit to Cuba in the 1970s. The Chicago Stings made history by being the first American football team to set foot in the island since 1959.
American travellers are back to the island after months of diminishing arrival numbers. Bookings to Cuba from U.S.-based tour operators began to pick up again this summer following a rough patch during which travel policy reversals and a smear campaign (led b President Trump's administration) harmed Cuba's appeal in the eyes of U.S. travellers. Mysterious stories debunked, it looks like U.S. visitors are returning to the island with renewed vigour and interest.
Cuba is famous for its classic cars, but recently, writer Cassandra Brooklyn toured the country by bicycle. Brooklyn is a veteran traveller to Cuba, but she admits that traversing the country by bike offers unique experiences that she wouldn't otherwise have.
