Well on its way of breaking the previous year's record of 4.7 million foreign arrivals, the latest tourism figures reveal that Cuba had welcomed 2.5 million international visitors as of 30 June 2018. The figures were published by national newspaper Granma and released after a MINTUR cabinet meeting.
Cuba's stunning beach destination at Guardalavaca looks much the same now as it did in the days of Christopher Columbus. Located on Cuba's northeastern shore, its turquoise waters and powdery white sands are bordered by a tropical forest, making it one of the most picturesque beaches in the Caribbean, if not the world.
For the first time in at least over 50 years, Cuba has not only been included in a Caribbean cruise ranking by Cruise Critic, but its capital city has been named the Best Cruise Destination in the Western Caribbean & Riviera Maya. The accolade comes after the island nation started being visited by US cruise passengers in 2016, with a total of 17 cruise lines now reaching Cuba.
