El Litoral Paladar and Bar
From the outside, El Litorial looks like your typical traditional Cuban diner, but once inside you’ll discover a trendy, thoroughly modern restaurant - with its own quirky nautical theme. As well as a stylish main room, there’s a small private space close to the bar and another separate dining room that’s ornately furnished and ideally suited for more formal occasions.
There’s also a coffee bar and an outdoor seated terrace area offering stunning ocean views. The terrace gets particularly popular in the evening when the spectacular sunsets make the perfect backdrop over dinner and cocktails.
Aside from the impressive setting, the quality of the dishes served up at El Litorial is second to none. There are actually two options when it comes to choosing your meal – the first is a sprawling buffet that offers over 40 different dishes along with a seriously impressive salad bar that takes up an entire wall. The second option is choosing from a huge a la carte menu that includes a large selection of antipasto, salads, soups, pastas, fish and meat dishes.
Of course, being situated right next to the ocean means the seafood at El Litorial is pretty spectacular – perhaps some of the finest you’ll come across during your time in Cuba. In fact the owners take out their own boat and do the fishing themselves! Favourites from their catch include the beautifully cooked octopus, decadent lobster linguine and pan-seared shrimp in coconut curry. While the creamy porcini mushroom risotto is also highly recommended.
To complement your meal, you can choose from a fabulous selection of wines including expertly-chosen varieties from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and California. In particular, the cocktails are top-notch and the creamy piña coladas are worthy of a special mention.
El Litorial also produces a heavenly selection of desserts. Of the sweet temptations on offer, highlights include the decadent chocolate cake, the typical Casquitos de Guayaba, the espresso-soaked tiramisu, and a refreshing Pie de Limón made with fluffy meringue.
And when the meal is over, make sure you head to the terrace for sunset drinks. It’s the most relaxing spot in the restaurant and the perfect way to end your afternoon.
El Litorial combines wonderful food with a gorgeous ocean-side location, and from the moment you arrive you’ll be treated like an honoured guest. A fabulous experience awaits.
