Bar Bohemio

Housed in a large, elegant home in the Vedado district, Bar Bohemio exudes a friendly, everyone-is-welcome vibe. The interior is a bright, quirkily decorated space filled couches and chairs in addition to tables, inviting guests to linger and enjoy their time here. The food here is delicious and the environment is refined but laid-back (think bright pink walls adorned with vinyl records), making it one of the city's most enjoyable restaurants. This place offers a warm, relaxing atmosphere for a gathering of friends or a romantic evening.

More a cafe than a bar, this airy and colorful establishment may be the most relaxed social environment in Havana. Bar Bohemio should not be confused with a late-night party venue. It’s really more of a European-style cafe, which is appropriate, as its owners are Italian.

Both former dancers in Contemporary Dance of Cuba, the owners have decorated Bar Bohemio accordingly: it’s modern, stylish, and still manages to maintain one of the friendliest and most welcoming atmospheres in the city.

Airy and spacious, and with patio seating, this makes a charming place for a daytime meal, but is an especially lovely location for an early evening meal, when the outside seating is particularly pleasant.

Located in a mansion in the Vedado district, there are few cafes and restaurants which command such an impressive space. Bar Bohemio is also known for being a gay-friendly establishment, a relative rarity in Havana until very recently.

Bar Bohemio specializes in tapas prepared with the artistic flair that is a hallmark of the cafe. The staff is very attentive and it’s not unusual to meet the owners, who enjoy spending time among their guests.

For visitors who are looking for a loud, all-night party venue, Bar Bohemio won’t meet the mark. This is a casual, quiet environment that aims to make guests feel at home rather than keep them dancing all night. It’s also suitable for families with children.
