Located in a secluded and quiet neighbourhood, this picture-perfect and majestic mansion is positioned on a pretty tree-lined avenue. The blue sea and sky provide a beautiful background to this picturesque hotel. Dating back to the 1920's, and still featuring the original patterned floor tiles, whilst in the peaceful area of Punta Gorda, it is close enough to the historical city centre to make the attractions of Cienfuegos within easy reach.

  • Steeped in history For those who want to explore the city of Cienfuegos, this is an ideally located mansion, built in the 1920s
  • Amazing view of the Bay of Bahia de Cienfuegos Within walking distance to the marina itself, enabling you to watch the boats enter the dock over breakfast
  • Fewer rooms, for a more personal service With seven rooms, you can experience a very personal touch

The management team here work hard to ensure an intimate and hospitable atmosphere, with the venue feeling more like a home-from-home than an anonymous hotel. There is a genuine emphasis on excellent service; the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, more than willing to make recommendations and suggestions. Rooms are generous in size and well-appointed. A freshly-prepared and tasty breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room that is filled with dappled sunlight as it bounces off the sparkling sea. At the end of the day the rooftop terrace provides a wonderful place from which to watch the sun go down.

Cienfuegos Yacht Club is right next door, with a vibrant atmosphere in which to enjoy a drink, a meal or even participate in some lively Cuban nightlife! Nearby points of interest include a sculpture park on Punta Gorda which reflects Cienfuegos' local arts scene. The main square of the city is a short walk away; many guests opt to take a bicycle taxi.

Within this square you'll find the Tomas Terry Theatre. Exhibiting grandeur both inside and out, featuring impressive ceiling frescoes and marble embellishment, visitors can take a guided tour to find out more about this landmark building. If architecture is interest to you Cienfuegos has a wealth of neo-classical structures to admire.

For those who love nature, a visit to the botanical gardens offers insight into Cuba's stunning range of biodiversity, and a trip to the El Nicho waterfalls gives the opportunity to swim in natural pools. Alternatively, soak up the sun on neighbouring beaches such as Rancho Luna. Divers are enthusiastic about excursions here as coral columns act as a fascinating natural underwater maze.

Cienfuegos and the surrounding area gives visitors a unique and authentic flavour of provincial Cuba. And so does the Hostal Palacio Azul!
