A clear sign of its upstanding record when it comes to protecting the environment and local ecosystem Cuba has hosted the 11th International Nature Tourism Event, giving experts the opportunity to get better acquainted with some of the island’s most valuable natural assets.
According to a recent article published in Prensa Latina, Cuba's only championship golf course, the Varadero Golf Club, famously perched in the eponymous beach resort, is to host as many as four international golf tournaments this month, with the first of these having kicked off on 12th October and taking place until 14th October.
In the wake of an announcement by the Trump administration in June that travel restrictions between the US and Cuba would once again be in place, many Americans are confused about travel to the island. Many in the US assumed that travel to the island is now forbidden, but tour operators insist that not only is it still possible, but safe. There has been a slight decline in American visitors to the island, but many Americans who booked tours prior to the announcement continued with their plans.
Good news for travellers bound for Cuba, with expert inspections declaring the majority of the island remains in full working order following the recent hurricane, although some areas in the north have sustained heavy damage.
After the US State Department issued a travel warning due to alleged sonic attacks to US embassy employees, travel experts have declared they foresee a decline in Cuba travel. The new hostile climate, along with the devastation brought by Hurricane Irma, has hurt interest in visiting the island.
