After being declared National Cultural Heritage and named “A World Intangible Heritage” by UNESCO last December, Cuban rumba is taking over three of the countries’ cities as the 9th edition of the Timbalaye Rumba Festival kicks off this month with a wealth of performances from prestigious rumba groups, master classes in folkloric and popular dances and a series of conferences and workshops. You’ll have until 28th August to check out the many cultural events lined up for this year’s festivities.
After a successful first edition last year, important Cuban organisations are currently arranging the second edition of the International Music Forum Primera Linea.
